The song perfectly reflects Bowen's traditional country and bluegrass roots, boasts his signature high harmonies, and features the nostalgic sound of a pedal steel guitar. This song was co-written by Nashville multi-award-winning hit tunesmiths Jim McBride and Jerry Salley. It was produced by Bowen, Donnie Clark (Pure Prairie League), and Craig Fletcher and was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Tony Cottrill. "I Ain't Gonna Live Like That" is currently available on all digital and streaming platforms.

In addition to the single release, Bowen recently filmed Season 7 of his TV music series, Jimmy Bowen & Friends, in front of a live audience at the Texas Troubador Theatre in Nashville. Each season of the show, hosted by Bowen, consists of thirteen half-hour episodes featuring Bowen performing live with his band and a special guest artist each week.
